Feast of Corpus Christi Mass & Procession with Bishop Boyea

Bishop Earl Boyea invites you to join him and clergy from around the Diocese on June 21 at 10:00am for Mass at Jackson Field (home of the Lansing Lugnuts), and a Eucharistic Procession to St. Mary Cathedral.

After the procession there will be an opportunity to receive the indulgence for the Jubilee Year. RSVP below to let us know that you will be joining us for this opportunity to be Christ’s witnesses to the world that is longing for the fulfillment that can only come from him.

FROM THE BISHOP

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

During this Jubilee year, we have an extraordinary opportunity to unite as a diocese in prayer, in faith, and in mission. Starting at Pentecost, June 8, we will embark on an intercessory journey—a 40 Hours Campaign—like no other.

For two weeks, parishes across our diocese will host Eucharistic Adoration for 40 or more hours each, blanketing our communities in continuous prayer and intercession for the full conversion of all the souls within our boundaries.

This campaign will lead to a powerful moment of unity on June 21—a diocesan-wide Mass at Jackson Field, home of the Lansing Lugnuts. After Mass, we will process with the Eucharist through the heart of our capital, culminating at the Cathedral. Pilgrims will even have the opportunity to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi on the Capitol Lawn with food and fellowship.

Let us come together in mission as one body in Christ. Let us persevere in prayer and proclaim the Good News with boldness and joy. This is our moment to shine as a community of faith and I invite you to join us!

Yours in Christ Our Lord,
+ Earl Boyea
Bishop of Lansing

The Jubilee Year PRAYER

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel. May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos in the sure expectation of a new heaven and a new earth, when, with the powers of Evil vanquished, your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven. May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth. To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever.

Amen.
